Clay Hill Ranch

SHEEP

We pride ourselves on raising sheep that perform both in the show ring and on the rail. Our North Country Cheviots have success both in the breeding stock shows and the market lamb classes. In addition, North Country Cheviot sheep are incredibly hardy, requiring very little assistance during lambing.
We also maintain a few commercial, Southdown, and Dorset ewes on the farm. Recently we have begun using AI to expand our stud ram pool.
In 2014, we were excited to exhibit lambs from our farm in New York, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana.  We shipped breeding stock coast to coast, and were proud to exhibit the Supreme Champion Ram at the oldest purebred sheep sale in the country.  The 2015 lamb crop looks great and we expect continued success in the show ring and in the barn.

2013 was a year of continued success in the ring and in the pasture.  We bred the champion NCC market lamb at the Indiana State Fair.  We also had Champion Indiana Ram, Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder. We did well at West Virginia and New York as well.
In 2012, Clay Hill Ranch exhibited the Champion NCC ram, Reserve Champion Ewe, and First Place Flock at the Indiana State Fair.

We also received the Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder Award.
